Yumhali Garcia

García earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance with Gellya Dubrova at the Conservatorio de las Rosas, in Morelia, Mexico, and most recently in 2012, his Master’s Degree with Renata Knific at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, USA. In his period as a student, Yumhali has been awarded with special distinctions and has also won several prices like the first place of the Conservatorio de las Rosas Internal Competition. As a soloist, Yumhali has
invited to perform with the Chamber Orchestra of the Michoacán University; he has also being featured as a guest artist for the International Musical Festival Miguel Bernal Jimenez. Most recently, Yumhali was awarded the Kalamazoo Symphony Artist Scholarship, and acted as a
Graduate Assistant at WMU. Currently, Yumhali is a FONCA scholar and is in progress of obtaining a Doctoral Degree in Violin Performance at the University of Minnesota with Young-Nam Kim.
