Casa de España en Minnesota will present its second “International Spanish Music Festival.” The concept behind this festival is to foster an ecosystem in Minnesota that gives voice to lesser heard Spanish music. We will present Spain and various Latin American countries in such a way that portrays the variety and richness of their cultures and traditions through music and will expand people’s perception of Spanish music. The event will be a 4-day festival spread over 3 weeks, featuring 3 performances and 1 workshop.  The repertoire will include a variety of both classical music and popular songs.

Casa de España en Minnesota is a non-profit organization officially established in 2010. It is quickly becoming recognized as the resource in Minnesota for people interested in the Spanish speaking culture, presenting monthly movie showings, Spanish conversational groups, cooking classes, and children’s activities. Throughout our first years of service to the community we have established important associations with other organizations which have proven to be of great benefit for all age groups and interests.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
