Born in Mexico City, Pamela Mayorga is pursuing her Master of Music degree in orchestral conducting at the University of Minnesota.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Music Composition at the National School of Music of the UNAM in Mexico City (2011).   Mayorga worked as a resident composer of the yearly Vocalessence ¡Cantaré! Choral program in Minnesota (2013- 2014). In 2015, she was named conductor of the CADI Community choir and ensemble at the Centro de Aprendizaje y Desarrollo Integral S.C. in Mexico City. That same year, they had a musical tour around many halls of Mexico City, France and Spain performing Mexican music. She also did the United States premiere of the work Punctus Contra Punctum by the Mexican composer Alexis Aranda with the University of Minnesota Campus String Orchestra. Additionally, as a promoter of Mexican culture, Mayorga performed traditional Mexican music at the residence of the Governor of Minnesota, Mark Dayton, as a part of a celebration for the educational ties between Minnesota and Mexico.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
