David Mayoral

David Mayoral was born in Madrid. He studied piano and instruction at the Conservatory Padre Antonio

Soler. After finishing his classical studies, he started to learn traditional and Oriental percussion with

Pedro Estevan. Throughout his research in early and traditional music, he studied among Moroccan and

Egyptial percussionists, and he followed the master classes of Keyvan Chemirani and Pejman Haddadi

(Iranian Zarb) and Glen Velez (Req). He regularly performs with early music ensembles, such as the

Ensemble L’Arpeggiata, Hesperion XXI, Kapsberger Consort, Camerata Iberia, Mudéjar (Begona Olavide),

the Sacqueboutiers, Orphenica Lyra (José Miguel Moreno), La Trulla de Bozes, Pulcinella Ensemble, etc.

Within ethnic and traditional music, he has performed with Radio Tarifa, Luís Delgado Ensemble,

Compañía Flamenca de Joaquín Ruíz, etc. He is also a member of Transit, a trio based in Madrid, that

shows through teaching the different percussion traditions throughout the world.
